the mystery behind my laptop screen resolution…

my laptop has had a screen resolution of 1280×768. i always wondered “why?”
hmmm, today i found an explanation or it… :D it’s in this picture

looks like the designer wanted to accomodate both XGA and HDTV resolutions in the same screen without having to resize the video … :D hmmm kool isn’t it :)

Talking to UNI, Kolkata Deputy Commissioner Detective Department Gyanwant Singh said: “The city police have probed at least three complaints the last of them from Bilaspur (Madhya Pradesh) where jilted lovers and spurned friends had turned to Orkut.com with vengeance, creating obscene profiles and lewd albums, making life a living hell for the victims.”
